Passport® Paralegal Role-Based Training

Virtual, live training

Course Objective

Paralegals are responsible for maintaining matter records, organizing legal documentation, tracking matter activity, coordinating workflows, and supporting attorneys throughout the matter lifecycle. This course provides paralegals with practical, hands-on training focused on the day-to-day activities they perform within Passport to support legal operations and ensure accurate matter management.

Course Approach

This course is delivered through a realistic legal matter scenario that mirrors the work typically performed by in-house paralegals. Participants follow a matter from intake through litigation, resolution, and closure while learning how Passport supports matter organization, legal collaboration, document management, and activity tracking.

The training focuses on real-world workflows rather than isolated features, helping participants understand how their responsibilities contribute to efficient legal operations and successful matter outcomes.

Course Scenario

Our company, Salvadorable Dollies, is involved in a breach-of-contract dispute that develops into formal litigation. As the assigned paralegal, participants are responsible for creating and maintaining matter records, managing documents, coordinating legal activities, tracking key deadlines, supporting attorneys, and facilitating collaboration throughout the matter lifecycle.

The scenario provides a practical learning experience that mirrors the responsibilities paralegals perform every day while demonstrating how Passport supports efficient legal matter management.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Create and maintain complete matter records with accurate matter details, legal parties, organizations, contacts, and supporting information
  • Organize and manage legal documents, correspondence, emails, and case-related materials
  • Track matter activity through events, tasks, deadlines, narratives, administrative notes, and status updates
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to support matter management processes
  • Monitor matter progress and maintain accurate records throughout the matter lifecycle
  • Support settlement, outcome, and closure activities while ensuring the matter record remains complete and current

Business Value

This course helps paralegals develop the skills needed to maintain complete and accurate matter records, improve collaboration across legal teams, increase operational efficiency, and provide attorneys with a reliable source of truth for matter information and activity.
