TyMetrix® 360° Attorney Role-Based Training

Course Objective

Attorneys are responsible for making informed legal decisions, managing outside counsel relationships, overseeing legal spend, and guiding matters to successful outcomes. This course provides attorneys with a practical understanding of how to use TyMetrix 360° to manage matters and associated legal spend throughout the complete matter lifecycle. Participants learn how to leverage the platform as a single source of truth for matter oversight, collaboration, financial management, and outcome reporting.

 

Course Approach

This course is delivered through a realistic, scenario-driven learning experience that follows the natural progression of a legal matter from inception through resolution.

Participants learn how to perform the key responsibilities expected of in-house attorneys by working through a complete matter lifecycle that incorporates both matter management and spend management activities. The course emphasizes practical decision-making, collaboration, and oversight rather than simply reviewing system functionality.

 

Course Scenario

Our company, Salvadorable Dollies, has become involved in a complex breach-of-contract dispute that ultimately evolves into litigation. As the attorney responsible for the matter, participants must assess the case, engage outside counsel, monitor matter progress, review budgets and invoices, collaborate with stakeholders, track settlements, and guide the matter through final resolution and closure.

 

Throughout the training, participants experience the same workflows and decisions attorneys encounter in their day-to-day legal operations, demonstrating how TyMetrix 360° supports effective matter and spend management from start to finish.
 

Participants will learn how to:

  • Locate, organize, and manage legal matters using searches, dashboards, and saved views
  • Conduct matter oversight activities including case assessment, management of key parties, outside counsel relationships, tasks, events, narratives, documents, outcomes, and closure activities
  • Collaborate effectively with outside counsel on budgets, accruals, documents, discovery activities, mediation efforts, and matter progress
  • Monitor and control legal spend through budget review, timekeeper rate management, invoice review, adjustments, approvals, and
  • rejections
  • Track settlements, document outcomes, and properly close matters
  • Utilize reporting and matter information to support legal decision-making and evaluate outside counsel performance

Prerequisites

Participants should have a basic understanding of navigating TyMetrix 360°, searching for information, and working within legal matters. New users are encouraged to complete introductory application training before attending this role-based course. Prerequisite video tutorials will be issued ahead of training to complete before attending.

 

Fees

There is no fee for existing clients who are already implemented.

 

Duration

  • Approximately 3 hours total
  • Delivered as two 90-minute virtual sessions on two separate days

Equipment & Logistics

  • Participants should attend using a computer capable of accessing Chrome.
  • Dual monitors are recommended to maximize the hands-on learning experience.
  • Course materials are provided electronically prior to training.
